Wellington was home to me for nearly fifteen years and I left a big piece of my heart behind when we left. It's home to some of the windiest photography locations in New Zealand, Wellington offers diverse beach and coastal locations as well as city vista views. Castlepoint in the Wairarapa is one of NZ's most stunning yet remote spots to visit, and further north the Central Plateau with Mt Ruapehu and the Tongariro Crossing there's a great mix of both epic mountain scenery and waterfalls to keep any landscape photographer happy!

Further north, the Hawkes Bay is an incredibly underrated part of NZ with an abundance of photogenic inland and coastal locations to visit - I recommend visiting in autumn for the best season.
